THE NAME: Beresan is the name of the region in the Ukraine, close to the Black Sea, where the Waliser Family established themselves in the early 1800's.
THE WINERY: Beresan Winery is located about four miles south of Walla Walla, WA.
APPELLATION: Walla Walla Valley
BUILDING HISTORY: Originally built in 1926 as a two story barn to house the horses and dairy cows used on the farm. The barn was part of the Thomas Homestead, and locals still talk about their fathers and grandfathers breaking their horses at the Thomas Homestead barn. It was remodeled in 2001 to accommodate the Beresan Winery while still maintaining the original structure and historic character.
FRUIT SOURCES: All of the fruit for our wines comes from our three vineyards: our Estate Vineyard, Waliser Vineyard and Yellow Jacket Vineyard. Some fruit has also been used from Pepper Bridge, Summit View, and Candy Mountain, which are managed or farmed by Beresan's owner, Tom Waliser.
