Watermill Winery would like to welcome you to the southern reaches of the exquisite Walla Walla Valley, which is the home of premier vegetable, fruit and wine production. Milton-Freewater was founded in the mid-1800’s alongside what is now known as the Walla Walla River. This pristine river has its source 25 miles southeast of Milton-Freewater in Oregon’s beautiful Blue Mountains. From there the river meanders through sunny Milton-Freewater, traversing southeastern Washington and finally merging with the mighty Columbia.
The Walla Walla River has spawned many leading fruit industries, including apples, cherries and wine grapes and it was here that Earl and Lorraine Brown chose to settle in the mid 1950’s. From their humble beginnings in vegetable production, the family business has evolved into a third generation, award-winning farming entity with a strong commitment to environmental awareness and sustainability while producing premium apples, world class wines and award winning hard apple cider. These values are exemplified through their participation in such environmental organizations as Oregon LIVE, Salmon Safe and Vinea.
The Brown family would love to share with you their passion for producing superlative wines, which are the result of our stewardship of the unique terroir in this tip of the Walla Walla Valley.
